If you have had an abortion, you may be experiencing some of following emotions.  Following are the emotions, their definitions, and some advice on how to deal with the emotion.  (All definitions are from of the Merriam-Webster Collegiate Dictionary, Copyright © 2000 Merriam-Webster, Incorporated, unless noted '*'.)

Anxiety — painful or apprehensive uneasiness of mind usually over an impending or anticipated ill

Guilt  — a feeling of culpability for offenses

Confusion — to disturb in mind or purpose : throw off

Anger*  — displeasure and hostility resulting from injury, mistreatment or opposition

Isolation — to set apart from others

Grief — deep and poignant distress caused by or as if by bereavement

Nightmares — a frightening dream that usually awakens the sleeper; something (as an experience, situation, or object) having the monstrous character of a nightmare or producing a feeling of anxiety or terror

Denial — a psychological defense mechanism in which confrontation with a personal problem or with reality is avoided by denying the existence of the problem or reality

Shame — a painful emotion caused by consciousness of guilt, shortcoming, or impropriety

Dysfunction — impaired or abnormal functioning
